The Applegates: The Hunt

Last weekend was the opener of the deer hunt. We went up to Tabiona for the weekend with Bobby & Danielle and Candace & Anthony (and Anthony's parents). It was our first camping trip of the year and it was SO nice to get out of the valley. It was definitely an interesting weekend as well. Kirk & Suzanne let us use their truck and 5th wheel which came in handy.

On the ride up there Brayden had to use the bathroom REALLY bad. To the point of almost peeing in his pants. We were in a very steap and thin road doing a double tow (5th wheel and then a 4-wheeler on a trailer) so there was no way to stop so he could potty. So, being a 1st for me, got to help him pee into a plastic bottle while he was standing up on a VERY bumpy road. I was very lucky that we managed to make it all in the bottle, and not all over me or the truck.

Friday night a very nasty rain/hail and lightening storm came in. We are VERY lucky we were in a trailer instead of our tent that leaks really bad when there is any amount of rain. The first night the kids didn't sleep really well. Both kids woke up a couple of times in the night, and Chris and I kept switching where we were sleeping. They both slept really well during their naps on Saturday though.

Saturday monring Chris, Bobby & Anthony left very early to go out hunting. My hubby got his very first ever deer using a bow. He shot a nice little 2 point. Unfortunately Bobby & Anthony didn't get anything over the weekend. That just means another camping trip :)
